Fondues for dinner!

It was [info]kijiraccoon's Bday yesterday and [info]chairoraccoon decided to do a Fondue Party for him!

People brought tons of cheese, fruit, veggies, and bread.

I brought fancy olives and different kinds of cheeses. Making fondue can be LOTS of work! So much stuff to shred and cut! :)

The Beer and Cheddar fondue I found online ended up being my favorite (and apparently went the fastest!.

The standard Swiss / white whine fondue did not work right, it didn't "mix" smoothly, the liquid stayed on top. Very strange. But, if it was stirred a lot, it mixed, and was delicious!

They also had oil, and chocolate.. mMMMMmmmm everything was terrific.
I was full when I left!

His house is HARD to turn around on in my car! (laugh) (sorry to those who I yelled at last night as I was doing it, I could NOT back up and I HAD to go forward so I wouldn't fall back!) Scary for sure!

Punish the Dead

L1010914.JPG, originally uploaded by toby.craig.

Still working towards the end of Punish the Dead. I'm about half-way through the last binder, about 25 plates left to ink and color. It'll probably take another four-six weekends I guess. Depending on how much I get sidetracked by life.

Please get caught up online with the first chapter for free at Modern Tales. When you're done with that you can read along in your own copies (if you're lucky enough to have one of these rare items) or contribute a couple of bucks to read the other chapters online.

Regular updates are ongoing, every Monday-Wednesday-Friday until it finishes up sometime in June 2010. Tell your friends.

And, for something different, a play-list of twenty albums that are currently getting me through the day, in no particular order, except TV On The Radio...that one has been on constant repeat since I bought it.

TV On The Radio - Dear Science
Isis - Wavering Radiant
Converge - Axe to Fall
Bloc Party - Intimacy
Eels - Hombre Lobo
The Swell Season - Strict Joy
Joe Henry - Blood From Stars
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
White Lies - To Lose My Life
Old Man Gloom - Christmas
The Morning After Girls - Alone
The Killers - Day & Age
Living Things - Habeas Corpus
Ray LaMontagne - Gossip in the Grain
Regina Spektor - Far
Iron and Wine - Around the Well
Flight of the Conchords - I Told You I Was Freaky
Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
Andrew Bird - Noble Beast
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

current music: Weezer - Kids/Poker Face

The End.

So "20 Plus" ends like that. Yeah you say, "well, where the heck is Friday's strip" and I say "what is Friday?"

No seriously, I apologize. Yesterday was my birthday and stuff. So I took today's off as well. Shameless, I know.

Anyway, we start on Monday a new storyline! Like I said, Year 2 is starting. If you know what I'm talking about, okay. If you don't, it's not that important.

So it's back to school for the guys and gals. Are we going to see some *gasp* COLLEGE strips? I dunno! Hahaha, that's ridiculous!

Anyway I'm still working on Chapter 3 of MIA, so stay tuned. If you want to read the first two chapters, here they are!

Browser based game development...

Hey... first time posting to this community, but I'm hoping this type of post is okay.

For the better part of a year I've been working on developing a browser based game, and we finally made it into a closed beta :P The problem is I really have no idea on how to get members and people interested in "yet another browser game." I'm also having a hard time finding testers who are willing to critique and critique well.

I was hoping a few people here might want to drop their hat into the ring and try testing the game out. We (it's a team of about five people) could REALLY use some analyzing and tearing up of our game -- or endless praise, if you're in the mood.

The game is Iron Grip: Lords of Atelia and it's a steam punk browser game, focusing on building armies and destroying the opponent. To sign-up, just hit register! We approve accounts on Fridays and Mondays, and you should get an activation email once we do. Anyone with any questions is welcome to talk to me here or on our forums. I'd really appreciate any beta testers I could get, especially considering ones from this community should have some extra background experience making critique really valid :)

Thanks.

Light at the End of the Tunnel

Today was interview #3, and I've already been selected for the second round of interviews. Me, out of 9 in a group "interview". Yesterday's interview went well also; contract call center support, but half the stress of the last one, plus I've had experience with their support software, as well as the software they support. Next week they do the background checks, and the following is the start of the hiring.

First, three interviews out of the blue, now two of them showing very good promise of me getting employed.

Thank. A. God!

Interview Week

I don't know how, but this week, I've managed to catch THREE interviews!

Unfortunately, only two of them show promise. I had one yesterday morning, which turned out to be a hiring agency hiring for the company I left. Seems I only got the interview because the call center manager approved for the agency to interview me. Manipulative mother fuckers just don't understand "no". I left them, and turned them down when they contacted me trying to rehire me, and I've said no to them again. What the fuck does it take for them to get the fucking message?

Tomorrow, and the next day are my other two interviews. Wish me luck. (I know I'm wishing for some luck here.)

any suggestions, besides roll over and take it?

First--still free (for a limited time, before I get my ass kicked?) "Falling Up" on the iPhone ~ http://is.gd/4LskJ

Falling up is a twist on the standard "falling tetronimo" game, so you can probably see where this is going...

This is my last letter back to Their Laywer:

Ms. XXXXXXX,

Thank you for that documentation. I am reviewing it.

I do, at a naive level, think my game goes well beyond the standard Tetris (and very carefully does not make any hints or claims as to relation; nor use any graphics, sounds, etc., from any original). If you've played it for more than a minute or two, you'll know that the blocks do not just "fall down", with respect to the person playing. That is the core art of Falling Up.

Aso--if I may--how do you rebut the copyright office's own claims that copyright does not protect the "method or methods for playing [a game]"? And more specifically, "Once a game has been made public, nothing in the copyright law prevents others from developing another game based on similar
principles."

http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl108.pdf

I really do appreciate your time. :) And as above, I'm reviewing the document you sent.

Any advice much appreciated, even if it is just a group consensus that I deserve this (I don't think I do, but I've got other games that are not at all related that I can focus on).

Monday Updates aka I Get DISTRACTED EASILY

Vote for the Cyantian Chronicles and Alien Dice TODAY!

Alien Dice has been moved and has updated! The link has been fixed. I had forgotten to do something important on my end last night. :D Was up late yesterday trying to get it all cleaned up and looking 'right'. It's still not done, but it's serviceable. Abby's Agency is back and up! Akaelae HAS updated!

I spent the morning doing a bit more tweaking. I tend to lose track of time when I start working... and the morning is almost all gone. I still have a ton of email to get done, but I'm going to go and do some inking and watch V, which I recorded last night in preparation for V on ABC tomorrow. I'm exciiiited!

By the way, you might all notice that the websites are suddenly moving FAST again! Thank Troy and Frumph! They've been doing some work behind the scenes that I didn't even know about until I remarked about it. :D

I'm going to do a bunch of book work today and pencil tomorrow.

Visit the store for merchandise! Currently up are prints, tote bags and notebooks!

Well, no Astro Boy .. so uhh.. next movie on the list ... Planet 51. Movie I'd like to see with husband: The Men Who Stare at Goats. Wouldn't mind seeing Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant. The Box looks like a good wait until DVD movie. TV Wise - The series that I am MOST looking forward to starts Nov 3rd ... and that series is V. :D I was only six years old when it premiered. (I'm enjoying the usual round of shows as well, NCIS, Fringe (I'm awaiting non crazy alternate universe Walter to show up - theory my husband told me about.)
